AV 2 IDRISI is an extension that converts ESRI grids to IDRISI raster datasets and vice versa. It is available in two separate versions, one for ArcView 3.x and another for ArcGIS 9.x. That one has been developed in close collaboration with Dr. Oswald Marinoni from CSIRO (Australia). AV 2 IDRISI is used by more than 7000 users and has been introduced the public in ESRIs ArcActuell newsletter. The following conversion tasks are possible, they will be selected automatically with respect to the data type:

• Idrisi16/32 to ArcView/ArcGIS
  Idrisi binary/ascii: byte  --> ESRI integer grid
  Idrisi binary/ascii: integer --> ESRI integer grid
  Idrisi binary/ascii: real --> ESRI floating point grid
  
  
• ArcView/ArcGIS to Idrisi16/32
  ESRI 2-Byte integer --> Idrisi binary: integer
  ESRI 4-Byte integer --> Idrisi binary: real
  ESRI floating point --> Idrisi binary: real

AV 2 IDRISI is seamlessly integrated in ArcGIS 9.x & ArcView 3.x and may be used for all kinds of purposes - even for commercial ones. Some user studies can be found in the document section. User studies >>
